With all these cubes, and the serious engineering effort put into this new engine, Hoover's new engine will idle even more smoothly than the small block. Street manors should Improve! For those of you that have now witnessed Hoover in person, Hoover has always idled and ran about as smooth as any 219 LPE cam engine. Fuel economy will suffer. But, with the overdrive and fuel injection still in tact and high compression of a naturally aspirated engine, Highway milage will most likely still be in the 17 mpg range.
